Hope Island

The Marinas of the Hope Island

The northern Gold Coast is long-renowned for being home to some of the most exclusive property developments in the city. Marrying waterfront properties and wide-open spaces with seclusion and proximity to the M1 Motorway, the northern Gold Coast increasingly has it all. Let’s take a closer look at Hope Island, one of the area’s favourite – and most exclusive – suburbs.

With a name like Hope Island, you would be forgiven for expecting something special! Actually named after Captain Louis Hope, the island is truly blessed. Hope Island is a suburb of over 11,000 residents spread amongst several gated developments, vibrant marinas and three world-class golf courses.

With its stunning canal system surrounding the island, the area is home to some of the Gold Coast’s most prestigious waterfront homes. Outside of the golf courses and their respective resorts, the lively Sanctuary Cove Marina and Hope Island Marina are well loved community hubs.

Both marinas provide easy access to the coast and Broadwater, one of Queensland’s most beautiful estuaries. There is excellent game fishing available, and with the coast nearby, you can be on the ocean in no time.

With 24-hour access and private secured berths, the two marinas are comfortably sheltered from strong winds, making docking your vessel a breeze.

Hope Island Marina

The Hope Island Marina is the focal point of Hope Island Resort and is one of the only marinas in South East Queensland that offers freehold of (as opposed to leasehold ownership) berths.

After a day out on the seas, there are a wide range of fine dining options, from the more casual Boardwalk Tavern and The House of Siam Thai Restaurant or enjoy some fresh fish & chips from Harley’s Seafood. There is also a Coles supermarket where you can easily restock your vessel (or home) after a day on the seas.

Sanctuary Cove is as fine a marina as you will find anywhere in Australia. With over 300 berths and premier facilities, it can cater for almost all vessels, including superyachts. Indeed, the marina has been awarded the 5-star, “Platinum Gold Anchor” accreditation. Think of it in terms of hotel star rating, and Sanctuary Cove Marina has reached the highest level.

Step ashore, and immediately you are in the centre of Sanctuary Cove’s Marine Village, which enjoys a selection of fine dining, relaxed cafes, and occasional live music, all lining the gorgeous waterfront.

Hope Island is the perfect setting for creating an active yet easy-going lifestyle with all the comforts, amenities and conveniences you could ask for. For the boating enthusiast or just lovers of the water, Hope Island itself offers two world-class (a descriptor you hear a lot around here) marina’s that each can be appreciated in their own right.
